Satellite up-link replaced.

Paid by borrowing against reserve operating funds.

Still needed to repay operations: 21,400 Euros.

Satellite up-link transmitting equipment at our main studio in Archamps, France, failed last June.  Replacement components were ordered, arrived and installed, but the problem persisted.

Another satellite transmitter arrived in July, and was immediately installed.  To our dismay, it didn't work either!

Finally, using bits and pieces of two broken satellite transmitters, we found a way to get something running.  However, we then noticed occasional drop-out of the audio.  These continuing problems led us in August to order and install a brand new satellite up-link transmitter.  It is working well.

But few donations have come in to repay money we borrowed from ourselves, this year's
operating budget, in order to pay the supplier of this essential transmitting equipment.

Could you please help us get caught up?

What we bought:

- Audio Encoder (used)
- Network Channel Controller (used)
- Multiplexer (used)
- 4 watt Ku-band satellite transmitter (new)
(Indoor controller unit and outdoor BUC)

Total bill:  25,500 euros, including VAT

Donations urgently needed and much appreciated

On October 1st, Eutelsat changed our frequency on the "Hot Bird" satellite.  Many listeners got lost during the outages last summer, and because of this latest unexpected frequency shuffle.  We hope everyone will soon get retuned to, and reconnected with their favourite station, RADIO 74.
